With a background in studying pharmacology and drugs to create therapeutic effect to treat diseases, Shirly is pharmaceutically trained to treat illness/diseases, After more than a decade practicing in this field, she has noticed that people are suffering from metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes, diabetes, hormonal imbalances, obesity, high cholesterol, fatty liver) at a much younger age nowadays.
Despite medication, their conditions continue to worsen, which then requires a higher does of the prescribed drugs most of the time. Instead of resolving the root cause of the disease, what they are doing instead is suppressing and managing their symptoms with drugs.
In the second half of her career, Shirly ventured into nutritional and functional medicines to look into food & nutrition in disease prevention and treatment.
As the founder of BEWell Health and Wellness, Shirly started the online programme back in 2020 with the mission to help more people to understand the basics of nutrition to prevent/reverse certain chronic symptoms most people are suffering daily.
Till now BEWell has helped more than a thousand clients in building a foundation in understanding the food they are eating and the relationship between food and their health. Through our coaching programmes, Shirly aims to help people with weight issues, restore their confidence, as well as regain and maintain their optimal fitness.
Dr CC Lim is an Integrative & Functional Medicine doctor, Certified in American Board of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM). He is an advocate for using integrative and holistic approach to help people achieve optimal health and wellness, with particular interests in integrative oncology, gut health, metabolic disease & anti-aging medicine.
Jin Ke is a dedicated dietitian with a Master of Health Science in Dietetics, specializing in gut health and non-communicable diseases. With a holistic approach to nutrition and a commitment to evidence-based practice, she empowers individuals to achieve optimal health and wellness through personalized dietary strategies and education.
